I was impressed with this young man the three times I walked into his room today. The room had two different substitutes and he was being a role model every time that I came in. His dad was excited to receive the #goodnewscalloftheday for his leadership in the room today.
The learners from Mrs. Parmenter and Mr. Novak studios had a publishing party last week. The event was well attended (the gym might be needed next time) and the learners did a great job sharing their Christmas Around the World research project.

Learners in studio Parmenter have been introduced how to locate 6 types of ‘signposts’ within text. These signposts allow our learners to explore the text by finding evidence to support their interpretations and continue to develop their critical thinking skills! It allows them to become responsive, rigorous and independent thinkers and readers! The learners used sticky notes to make their sign posts. #engagedreaders

Parent Teacher Conferences are next week to start off a long weekend.
This young lady was nominated for the #goodnewscalloftheday by Mrs. Jensen. She went out of her way to help another learner count out manipulatives when she noticed them start to get frustrated. Her kindness and ability to be a good friend is something that helps her be a peer leader in our building.
