Mrs. Stroschein nominated this young man for the #goodnewscalloftheday for using two habits of mind with his writing. Because he has been striving for accuracy and persisting, she has seen great progress in his writing skills.

I was so impressed with this young ladies organization tools she was using in math that she is the #goodnewscalloftheday. Her facilitators have been impressed with her ability to work through her play list and is doing what is best for her learning.

If your Journey learner comes home and says they had a snowball fight today they might be right. Learners have been practicing reading notes on a treble staff while having a snowball fight. Great to see Mrs. Christiansen making music SnOw much FUN! #Makelearningfun #musiced

Yesterday the Journey Kindness Club tied blankets for Sioux Falls’ Project Warm Up. The club was able to get 14 blankets tied to donate! #kindnessMatters

Mrs. Johnson nominated this young man for the #goodnewscalloftheday for going out of his way to help classmates put up there chairs at the end of the day. His mom was excited to receive this good news.

It was great to see this young lady "think flexibly" when she was unable to attend her tech time in her reading schedule today and problem solve a solution. She was my #goodnewscalloftheday for being able to find a solution and do what is best for her learning.

A Giving Tree has been set up in the front entrance of Journey. On the tree, there are ornaments with gift requests for families in need in the Harrisburg School District. Please feel free to take an ornament and have gifts back to Mrs. Prahm by Friday, Dec. 14. Thank you!

Ms. Weber nominated this young lady for the #goodnewscalloftheday for her continuously going out of her way to help others and think of her friends in her room before herself. She gave me two compliments in the short time I walked her down to my office. What a privilege it is to have this young lady at Journey Elementary.

Due to inclement weather, HSD facilities have been closed Saturday, Dec. 1 and Sunday, Dec. 2. Due to Journey Elementary being closed Saturday, Dec. 1, Breakfast with Santa is cancelled. If you brought in bake sale items, you may reclaim them by 4pm today. Items not picked up by 4pm today will be donated to various organizations. Classroom baskets will be auctioned at a later date. This young lady did an awesome job yesterday and was our #goodnewscalloftheday. She had a few firsts working with the 90 learners in her cohort during morning meeting. She took a responsible risk and raised her hand to give another learner a shout out and she stood up in front of everyone when another learner gave her a shout out. It has been great to see her confidence continued to grow in #personalizedlearning #greatjob

I was in this young ladies studio today and was extremely impressed with the math notes she has been taking during math I Learn. She received the #goodnewscalloftheday for her hard work in math.

Registration is open for the December 1st Science Saturday! This session will have a “HOLIDAY” theme. Journey's 1st & 2nd grade classes participated in a Thanksgiving Breakout Box. The learners were placed in small groups and needed to solved math and language arts clues to unlock their Breakout Box.
