Mrs. Martin nominated this young lady for the #goodnewscalloftheday for helping one of her classmates transition to lunch. She also listens and follows directions while being a good friend to everyone! She is a good example in the classroom, on the playground, and in the hallway.

Journey will have gym drop-off (learners will go in the gym - 7:50am) due to rain.

This young man is the first @ElemJourney #goodnewscalloftheday for the year. He did a fabulous job joining a new cohort of learners and went out of his way showering his teacher and classmates with kindness. He did a great job this first day sharing his smile with everyone.

Journey is planning on starting each of our meetings with this video in mind. We all have a choice and we are going to focus on what is right in the world. Life is good. Make sure that every day counts. You choose your disposition. #JourneySoBright

It's almost that time. Please be aware of students on your morning commute. ๐๐ฏ๐ธ
โ ๏ธ If you're driving behind a bus, allow a greater following distance than if you were driving behind a car. It will give you more time to stop once the yellow lights start flashing. It is illegal in all 50 states to pass a school bus that is stopped to load or unload children.
โ ๏ธ Never pass a bus from behind โ or from either direction if you're on an undivided road โ if it is stopped to load or unload children
โ ๏ธ If the yellow or red lights are flashing and the stop arm is extended, traffic must stop
โ ๏ธ The area 10 feet around a school bus is the most dangerous for children; stop far enough back to allow them space to safely enter and exit the bus
โ ๏ธ Be alert; children often are unpredictable, and they tend to ignore hazards and take risks.
